Everyone deserves a second chance! He has a family to support, and has done a lot more good than bad.

Semler is a great heated person who would help anyone who needed it. He has personally helped me threw a lot of hard times. I do not think the one mistake he has made should leave him with a loss of his job. Everyone makes mistakes, let's not be so quick to judge one person because of one mistake. But for the many good deeds he has done.

I believe that school police office Paul Semler should keep his job because he didnt purposely fire off his gun, and no harm was done to anyone.

There is always good in everyone so why we all sit here and read this just think back on how many times he has helped us, I think it's time for us to return the favor!!!!

Although what happened, happened it was an accident. I think after all his dedication to the school district & students the punishment is extreme. I am sure he is bothered by the fact that it happened more than anyone! It happens unfortunately in tons of jobs military, police force etc.. And yes they are reprimanded but not to this extreme. Maybe as a school district should reevaluate policies for resource officer cleaning weapons inside school facilities. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but personally knowing someone who has accidentally discharged a firearm I know the more extreme caution they take because of the accident they experienced.

Paul Semler is a great man, police officer and friend to the community, students and parents of the Western Wayne School District. I fully support him and hopes that he sees how much he is appreciated!! We've got your back as you have had ours, unfailingly, over the years!!

Everyone makes mistakes. He didn't know the gun was going to go off. It's not like he was pointing it at a student or staff member. Give this kind human being a second chance. I'm sure if this was you, you'd want a second chance.

This is crazy. He did not kill anyone. He did not point the weapon at a student or staff memeber. I am flabbergasted on how they are making such a huge deal about this but yet do they take away police officers jobs when they killed innocent kids or adults? No. Even when they shoot and kill African Americans. They never make such a huge deal. This man deserves a second chance.
