I'm writing this at 2:30 in the morning. I read this petition and thought, wouldn't it be nice? And for a moment I felt greedy. There are far more deserving parents who do what I do and more.
Mother of one beautiful (almost 2 years old) boy. He is a loving and feral child. My husband is currently away in AIT for the army. We've spent the majority of our first year of marriage apart. (It will be a year on November 5th.) I've been a full time mommy, full time worker, and full time stress bucket. For the most part, I've been doing it on my own. I've had help from my husband's aunt in keeping him while I work, and help from my in-laws. Both of which have done a majority of the hard work. They, too, kissed boo boos, taught him his abcs, counting, and basic language. I've missed out on so much. I didn't get to be the mother I always thought I should have been. I wanted to be his firsts. However, I get to take pride in the seconds.
I may be struggling like I've never struggled before, but I'm humbled by all of the people you help. Their stories are inspiring, and give me hope that all of this hard work will pay off. Even with health issues, I know that if these parents can make it, so can I. I highly doubt this will be read by you. I'm sure I may even have the wrong idea here with how this works. After all, it IS the middle of the night.
Thank you for being such an amazing person. There are so few out there.
Good night from one tired mama. <3

I have a 1 year old but I have helped my husband with his two brothers now 18 and 21. Being a mother of any age, biological or not deserves to be appreciated. Showed that all they do is worth it. Sometimes people don't think about how truly exhausting it is to be responsible for another person. Being a mother can be a thankless job. No matter the age of the child. It never ends. You always have more to teach them, life experience you have that you don't want them to have to go through. Yet it is the best thing in the world.

My mom is the most deserving lady. She takes care of my dad 24/7. He has been diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, had an amputation AND had a craniatomy due to a stroke and my mom has been by his side every step of the way. On top of all of that, she helps take care of ALL of her grandkids. She is unbelievable and deserves to be recognized. She is someone I aspire to be and definitely my hero.

And what about us grandmothers who raised our kids then start over with grandkids. I raised my 6 kids and now I am raising my 10 year old granddaughter since she was 6 months old. Between home schooling her and running her to dance class and acting class and pageants and photo shoots and auditions and filmings and do all the regular stuff I barely have time to breath. I'm not a young chicken anymore there are sooo many grandmas raising grandkids now a days. They deserve recognition to.

I am a mother of 6 at 37 had my first when I was only 16 but graduated high school at my home town high school on time with my class with baby #2 under my belt. I beleave that all moms deserve to be recognized because let's face it if raising them was as easy as having them everyone would do it Being a Mom is a blessing but it is hands down the hardest jib ever
