This petition urges the AUSA Trustee Board to prevent the closure of Alfie’s Café until new amenities are provided within the next AUSA building.
We believe it is AUSA’s responsibility to listen to the students it is representing. Having a place where students are provided with food, drinks and coffee is important, especially given the lack of choice on the University campus. Many students come to Alfie’s during class breaks, lunch times and for socialising. If AUSA removes this option we feel this will alienate students and limit affordable options. In doing so this will most likely reduce the footfall within the Butchart building in general and affect students engaging with the other services and activities AUSA provides.

We the undersigned wish to lobby the trustee board to keep Alfie’s Café open and seek to make it one of the priorities within the AUSA strategic plan until the new building is completed.
