Christianity may see homosexuality as a sin, but just like with other sinners, they are all God's children with equal rights and deserve to be treated as such. Humans are not supposed to judge each other based on our sins. No one is better than or more important than anyone else in God's eyes. There are millions of LGBTQ+ community members being bullied everyday at school, because they are not offered a safe environment, even though they should, because that is their right. Hundreds, possibly thousands, feel the only solution is suicide. To eradicate the acceptance of these everyday occurrences, participation in the Day of Silence is a great step towards encouraging love towards all to these generations of hate towards those that are simply different, still battling their own demons. Even if Christianity doesn't acknowledge the legitimacy of the gender spectrum or accept the morality of the sexuality spectrum, those that do are still God's children, with equal human dignity as those that do, for they were made in God's image and likeness, as well. Schools spreading this concept is a good start to eliminating such burdensome, violent hate in our society.

I'm definitely not straight and this is the most beautiful thing I've heard of. I graduated this past year but I wish my school would've done this. Good luck getting it going! I believe in you! <3

There's absolutely nothing more Christian to do! It's unfortunate your school is having hesitance in the first place as this is such a serious issue. Starting at school will help prevent so much homophobia and hate, members of the LGBTQ community (like myself), have to deal with.

Because having different beliefs is no excuse for hate.
