You don't have to agree with the lgbt community to participate in the day of silence, so no matter what their beliefs are I think this is something they can participate in.

My school is Christian too, I wish I were brave enough to do something like this, unfortunately my school and most of the students are anti-LGBT. It just sucks for anyone different to be honest

my school participates in the Day of Silence every year and so many students do it and it's such an overwhelmingly positive experience and every school should participate in this event :)

At my school my friends sister started a GSA (gender sexuality alliance for those who don't know) and we've even had a pride week, there was a group of students that wore all black and were against it, and I still get comments about being lesbian (even though I'm actually pan) and me and my friend (not girlfriend even though I wish she was) get called out for PDA even though we're just hugging, there will be straight couples making out in the hallway but because we're two girls we get called out for it, a day of silence sounds amazing, and I wish you the best of luck

I am a lesbian and while I don't have a religion, I love and support any person no matter faith or skin color or sexuality or gender. I want equality for all and for all to feel safe. Good luck in your fight.
