Miss Harrison Jones (Head teacher at Cams Hill School) has decided to make a decision that, on a Tuesday we shall finish 1 hour 5 minutes early instead of finishing early on the Friday. The Friday system was an amazing concept as it allowed students to get a longer break over the weekend. While, we respect Miss Harrison Jones's opinion on the matter, It would be nice if she could take in our opinion. Though this of course, will be depending on the amount of signatures we gather!

I never imagined so many people would want to talk about our end of week schedule. I am just reading through your thoughts now and it is clear how much this Friday break means to everyone.

It makes no sense to cut the day short 2 days into the week. Daft idea, that I do not support and also feel parents should have been consulted before a decision was made. I will need to amend my working pattern to accommodate this which I am not happy about.
My husband works away all week and comes home Thursday evening to cover Friday for the children finishing early. Now it's moving to a Tuesday I have to get other family members to cover this due to work commitments.. Why the change???
PPA time is important and it may be more easily enforced for a specific hour or so on a Tuesday but ultimately it is the holistic wellbeing of pupils, teachers, head and parents that makes Cams Hill work and the Friday finish is an integral and vital aspect of that.
Both my children attended Cams Hill and the early Friday finish allowed us as a family to visit their Grandparents & family in the North. Many of your youngsters will have Military parents , like us, who also finish early on Fridays to allow for travel.
Why a Tuesday? Fridays make sense as a few company's finish early on Fridays meaning not having to worry about childcare for those that need it. Why change something when it works? Leave to Friday please

My children work hard enough during the week, so being able to leave early is a bonus as they can complete their homework & then have a fairly free weekend. Perhaps the parents should be consulted before such decisions are made!!
