Should Egg Donors be declined because they have a child born with Cleft?

This makes no sense to refuse perfectly healthy eggs.

I think it's disgusting this lady is wanting 2 help others n basically can't cause she has a beautiful little boy cause that's what he is so what if he was born with a cleft lip he's still beautiful and I would think it wouldn't put anyone wanting a baby off some babies are born with conditions that aren't hereditary so how can she b discriminated for this plus the fact that it don't run in her family is just ridiculous .

The choice should be given to the parents.
its not a life threatening condition and if the parents searching for donners think it is then shame on them each baby is a gift

This is shocking and they ought to be ashamed of themselves, a cleft lip is correctable. Surely as some of the people that have been waiting for there child for years, wouldn't love any child any less because of anything as changeable as a cleft lip?! Disgusting!

It is wrong, recipients should be given the right to decide themselves. A cleft child can be born from no family history. They still deserve the chance. Would you abort a child that wasn't 'perfect'

It's discusting how you are being treated xx you both have such a happy, healthy little boy and are offering to give someone else the same opportunity xx it wouldn't make any difference to me its an amazing thing you were offering to give someone a chance to have their own baby xx

I am aware the criteria in most fertility clinics are the same as far as Cleft Lip is concerned. My intention is to change this Cleft is not a terrible thing. The recipients should decide for themselves!!!

Those receiving the egg should be given the choice; this is not a life threatening condition - change in the companies policies is needed!!!!
