I support this petition given that it is a by-law to stop hunting in and along the populated lakefront residential areas. I do support hunting as a viable sport when conducted in appropriate areas away from populated residential areas. So yes, both myself and my wife support the need for this by-law.

I have been a seasonal resident here in Point Clark for over 30 years. I am now raising my own children here, and want to give them the same memories that I had. Unfortunately, we often walk the beach area in fear knowing there are hunters down on the shore firing randomly, sometimes towards the water, but most of the time towards the shore, where they often play. Let's put an end to this insanity.

It is not peaceful and I don't feel safe knowing that there are people around with shotguns.

We cannot believe that the county actually let this go on. We live right on the water at 143 Huron and have 3 young children. This is bizarre behaviour and must stop immediately. Go hunt in the forest where no harm to cottagers can take place.

Thank you to all the folks who are working on this very important issue on behalf of your fellow cottage owners. It is appreciated.

I fully support. This is not an area suitable for hunting.

We have been on the beach when hunting is occuring and it is very concerning knowing that guns are being discharged within such close range to our cottage. It is actually scary. We immediately go inside. Not my idea of cottage living.

Since the township considers Point Clark to be an urban area from a tax and planning stand point then banning firearms there makes sense. Would they allow hunting in Ripley or Lucknow?
