Final supporters
A number of short term operators have been ordered to cease operation and cancel bookings due to non-compliance of city's B&B licensing bylaws. Considering the growing popularity of short-term rentals (Airbnb & VBRO style accommodations) and the importance of tourism to Stratford, we are requesting that the city allow short term providers to continue operations and honour existing reservations for the 2017 Festival Season.
City Bylaws are currently under review and are expected to be completed by the end of the Festival Season. Short term accomodation operaters are respectfully asking for the voice of the community to be heard in revision of these bylaws.
The individuals listed below are in support of both requests.

I just refreshed the page and saw that we hit 250 names which is truly insane because I honestly thought this would just be a small thing for my neighbors to look at. My coffee is cold and I am still trying to wrap my head around all this feedback but reading these comments is honestly making me feel like we might actually have a real shot at getting the city to reconsider how they handle these bookings.

As a family of 6, the short term air bnb accommodation/rental situation is often the only way to affordably travel for us. I can't imagine a large tourist based city such as Stratford not having them available. Thanks!!
I serve on the board of trustees of a theatre company in the USA. Short term accommodations are preferable to many of us in the theatre world -- please consider allowing us to stay at our rental space for the Festival.
A short term rental apartment is not the same as a B&B, and attracts a different clientele. To exclude this choice from the market based on self-interested protests of some, will be counter productive in the long run.
As licensed B&B owners, we think it is fair and appropriate to allow alternative new venues to provide accommodations, as long as they are licensed and compliant with the by-laws - either the current ones, or the new rules under consideration. Thanks.
Let the 2017 reservations carry on. Why should the people who want to visit Stratford suffer for the cities draft period. We need these visitors to Stratford to keep businesses going and the hard working business owners to stay in business!
Freedoms to operate small business needs to be supported for economic growth. Careful not to over regulate at the expense of the tax payer's pocket. Creating an administrative workload should not be the design for growth.
I can't think of a better way to upset a great number of tourists than cancelling their reservations with welcoming locals. When did Stratford turn into so rigid a community that every creative endeavour needs to be stamped out with a ludicrous law?

Did the city shut down bed and breakfast operations while they worked on their by law? We just want to play by the same rules and writing them should not take years - we were told it would be settled LAST october. Now dragging on and on.
