Make Shop Richmond Weekend an annual celebration of our locally owned businesses and a yearly kick-off of Richmonders reinvestment in Richmond. 

By signing this petition, we can show the Richmond City Government that the people are behind this cause and that they should be too. We want the Richmond City Council and the Mayor to publicly and financially support Shop Richmond Weekend as an official celebration of the city. Richmond benefits tremendously when our local businesses thrive. Lets make that happen.

By making Shop Richmond Weekend Annual we will be supporting  and helping to create local Richmond businesses as well as generate additional tax revenue that will directly support our community. The additional taxes that shopping locally generates will fund Richmond Public Schools and the city's infrastructure. Shopping local also protects the environment, helps reduce crime, builds community, create jobs, not to mention enhances and preserves the culture that is unique to Richmond.
