This is a petition to support Steve and Trisha Sherman. On Wednesday, January 21st, 2009 both of these students were given a deportation order to return home to Guyana. They are being deported because Immigration Canada has failed to grant them asylum in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Board Act. They have only been given 3 weeks and are to leave by February 11th, 2009. Both Steve and Trisha are students at the University of Toronto Scarborough. Trisha is in her last year (just a few months away from graduating) and Steve is in his 3rd year. Both of these students are very hard working, law abiding individuals who volunteer, work, go to school and contribute to their communities. They both have very loving and giving hearts. It is not fair that out of nowhere they have been given this order to leave the life they have created for themselves over the past 7 years. This is a group to support both of these amazing people. If there is enough feedback and support for them this information will be passed on to higher authorities. Please show you support and give your information and comments you may have on this situation. This information will be passed on to people such as Members of Parliament, the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration and anyone else we can. You support is greatly appreciated and any feedback or suggestions you have will be greatly appreciated. Spread the word and show your support for these two amazing people. This petition is for anyone who wants to help our cause. Invite your friends, family, whoever you can to help and sign this petition to keep these two loved people in Canada. Please be aware that this information will be passed on!!! We ask that Steve and Trisha Sherman be allowed to remain in Canada at least to be allowed to finish their degrees. By signing this petition you agree to this cause. Thank you.
