This petition is to create an environment to bring us together as a county and a community.
Our public school system is supported by Shenandoah County resident tax dollars, and funds from the State and Federal government, all of which don't function without your tax dollars.
Thus I submit that for the name change/replacement of Stonewall Jackson High School, Ashby-Lee Elementary School and the change of the Mascot at Northfork Middle School be decided by the taxpayer.

I moved from northern VA to get away from the liberal lunatics and the left wing politicians only to see that they are here in the valley too. A handful of spineless "leaders" should not make this decision. Let democracy prevail, let the people vote on it! Keep the school names and preserve history!

Any intelligent human, black or white, knows that changing the name of a school will never undo the past. The only answer is to keep the names as a reminder so all future generations can really know the results of being racist. Put this in front of the tax payer.
As a current student at Stonewall I feel it’s wrong to change our heritage as my grandparents went to stonewall and my mom went to stonewall along with my aunt it’s in our blood we are born and raised Shenandoah county and will always be stonewall Jackson generals
The names of county schools needs to be left up to county residents , not someone from northern va . like half the board is made off. you want to change school names go back to were you went to school and change them.
Do not change the names.
Named for a man who fought for his State and neighbors against the invading North.

It is irresponsible to spend taxpayer money on changing our schools names. Our teachers are already spending their own money buying classroom supplies. Use this money for raises and supplies. Changing names and mascots will not change history.
