Two years ago, I had my first experience at Fan Expo Canada - journeying to meet Michael Dorn, of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Mr. Dorn was one of the "trifecta" of Star Trek that my father and I shared together. Mr. Dorn was kind enough to sign an autograph for my father and myself, and regaled me with his rendition of "prune juice - a warrior's drink". I relayed this all back in as much detail as I could to my father, who, due to accessibility, was unable to come to the convention. He absolutely lit up with excitement, and it was an incredibly special memory to share. This is one of the last memories that I have of something special for my dad. Last year, I again journeyed to Fan Expo Canada, on the mission to complete another "piece" of our special "trifecta", for my dad. It had taken on a new meaning for me... my dad had passed away just a month and a half after our Michael Dorn experience. Knowing that Marina Sirtis would be at Fan Expo, I was determined to add her autograph to our collection, knowing how much it would have meant to my dad. It became something to connect me to my father and his memory. When I met Ms. Sirtis, I was jubilant! It was such a special moment, and I felt like it was such a wonderful way to relive that special moment I had a year prior, while my dad was still with me. This year, I received an email that seemed almost unreal. Sir Patrick Stewart was coming to Fan Expo Canada! My fiancé earnestly told me that he thought my father had arranged a special wedding present for us - the chance to complete the Star Trek Trifecta that my father and I shared. I have made all of the arrangements to have the time off of work, and I have calculated how to save enough money to purchase admission into Fan Expo - saving a bit each pay cheque while planning our upcoming wedding. It is my DREAM to be able to meet Sir Patrick Stewart and complete the Star Trek Trifecta that my father and I began together, after our love of Star Trek. However, I am unable to purchase the Ultimate Fan Package for $299. I would love the chance to meet Sir Patrick Stewart - perhaps if we all worked together, we could convince Fan Expo to find it in their hearts to help us achieve this incredible dream! Thank you!
