Below is a small list of why the petition is being presented to Frederick County Board of Supervisors also if you don’t want to sign the petition you want your taxes to increase? We need to move to a home owners association temporarily and then apply to the Board to become Frederick counties 5th town? With the rate of development here by the county opening up 1500 new 80 by 120’ lots this action alone will significantly increase the tax revenue to the county. Also adding 3 phase electric over the mountain? Who’s paying for these improvements? Population density under the EPA needs to be looked at closely? When you go over that density that the federal law states lots of things kicks in some examples are sewers to include a sewage plant, public water and more you get to pay for the improvements. Your tax’s will double if not triple on that date. Please keep your friends in the Board of Supervisors positions they are the ones that wanted you and I to pave Tomahawk Trail and Bowman trail with 1.5" of asphalt at a cost of just under ½ million dollars. I and one other disproved of the counties claim that it will improve the road plus make the roads safer? The analogy that I gave the county is a simple one and I quote it to you “You want thehome ownersof Shawnee land to buy a house herewith no foundation, no well, no septic system and say that that is a good deal for the person who buys that home”? The county presently does what it wants when it wants to with no professional engineering help at all anyway on all work done here? I contend that the entire county engineering staff is totally incompetent when it comes to present basic engineering principles practices within Shawnee land that it is now criminal? I see at least 4 potential life threating issues here that they have increased the danger to us thehome owners who live hereand I hope will be held liable for there incompetence if and when something happens?

1. The Sanitary district is and remains a separate and distinct entity within and administered by the county but is not part of the county structure. This is what should be the relationship but it is not the case.
2. Tax’s doubling in less than 8 years. All within the hiring date of present manager April 8 2008? Tax’s will increase by $200.00 this year alone?
3. BOS code “ A government that is accountable and dedicated to providing responsible stewardship for county funds and to insure the citizens receive the best services possible for the funds expended”. Guess what the funds generated from Shawnee Land is not the counties to spend as they want all monies have to be spent within the sanitary district including the 24/7 use of vehicles by county employees and the use of our equipment.
4. Failure of all engineering tasks from maintaining buildings to maintaining the property to the installation of culverts?
5. No stone and chip on most roadways in over 8 years! WHY? It’s recommended every four years on all roadways.
6. In 2013 the entire stone and chip was all scrapped off because it was put down to late in the year it made quite a mess just look at Tomahawk trail.
7. After 28 years of counties BOS leadership roads are failing no roads can be classified as a secondary road under VDOT standards. WHY?
8. The use of sanitary district funds to allow county employees to drive our district vehicles 24/7 to there home’s and any other place they wish daily even out of state use is allowed which is totally atrocious. When BOS and county executive were questioned about county employees driving vehicles the county vehicles the executive stated that only four county employees were allowed to drive county tax payer vehicles 24/7. They are allowed this $50,000 perk to drive any vehicle they want because they are on call for emergencies? In 27 years of the sanitary district there have been no emergencies? When questioned further at a later date county executive states that Shawnee land is a multi-million dollar asset to the county this is now the reason so manager here can drive a Shawnee Land Vehicle 24/7?
9. Almost 2 million dollars to fill a cavern in Cherokee lake which still leaks this isfailed engineering?
10.Building to two mail sheds at a cost of $256,000 one of which is in a flood plain and on natural springs?
11.No inspection of work done but contractors are paid for substandard work?


Join COMMITTEE FOR A TAX FREE SHAWNEE LAND

Petition to end sanitary district a petition is being circulated to residences of Shawnee land to end the sanitary district? End double taxation without representation? Since 2005 tax’s have almost doubled with the managers and Board of Supervisors plan to pave 5 miles of Tomahawk Trail raising your tax’s by $200.00 with the present plan no finial decision yet by BOS. The use of our Sanitaryvehicles by county officials to use 24/7 must be stopped immediately? The use of our paid county employees plus the use of our equipment must stop now? Right now under the present law you have no rights or voice but to pay your tax bill?

I propose that Shawnee land become once again a HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION temporally until we can be made the 5th town within Frederick County. Immediately petitioning BOS to recognize Shawnee Land as Frederick Counties 5th township?
