Final supporters
SHARP is the only independent housing advice centre serving all of Leicestershire and Rutland. Over the past 36 years we have provided thousands of families, 1,300 in the last year alone, with free housing help & support. Additionally we have implemented intensive support programmes for vulnerable people entering the rented accommodation sector. We have funded ourselves small grants & local fundraising.
However whilst the recession has increased the demand for our services, it has also reduced our current funding. Meaning that we will have to reduce the services we offer which means we may be able to help only half of those who need it. This could increase homelessness, pressure on public services and crime levels as well as meaning some families would be split up due to homelessness.
Our aim is to raise £100,000 by the end of 2011 & to get as many people as possible to sign this online petition. You can help by liking our Facebook page and showing your support by signing this petition, donating directly to us, taking part in a sponsored event, contacting your local MP on our behalf or organising a fundraising event yourself!

How are we supposed to cut funding for the one place that actually helps people find a roof over their heads? Makes no sense.
so many people are one paycheck away from being on the street. this is such an important service for our town.
Keep up the good work. Leicester needs you guys.
Ridiculous that they have to beg for money when so many families are struggling right now. Keep them open!
SHARP helped my sister stay in her flat when everything was falling apart. We need them here in Leicester.
