Sharmaine has more determination and passion than anyone I know. She manages to balance a busy school schedule, her dedication to her family and her commitment to giving back to the community all while she works hard to grow and establish her young business. She is the definition of 'can-do'!

Sharmaine is a great example of how a typical CCS student can use their education to improve her own life and the lives of others. As a Spokane native, a wife, and a mother she exhibits characteristics of many CCS students that must balance life with school, but Sharmaine has taken it a step further. She is also a small business owner. She opened her own hair salon and must also balance full-time business owner with her roles as student, wife, and mother. Through her salon, Sharmaine not only gets to do what she loves and provide for her cute little daughter, but also give back to the Spokane community. Sharmaine has held food and clothing drives at the Salon and is passionate about “giving back.” It’s not every day you see a business model that includes community service. Sharmaine is truly exceptional and shows that with a little help from CCS and a lot of self-motivation, anyone can make a difference.

Sharmaine is an amazing individual. She doesn't let herself, anyone, or anything stop her from succeeding. She works hard and loves what she is doing. I see her being up there with the top hair stylists in the world. even top the point of meeting Paul Mitchell. Way to go Sharmaine, support here 100%.
