As a resident of the State of Connecticut (or as a concerned individual directly affected by Connecticut laws pertaining to child custody) I strongly support and request that state legislators enact new legislation that establishes a legal presumption of shared legal and shared physical custody of minor children by both parents. Both parents are essential to the well being of a child and should be treated equally by the court system. I support the following tenets of shared parenting and request that the State of Connecticut enact legislation that fully supports them as well:

Bout time. Been fighting this battle for 3 years and it costs a fortune just to see my own kids. This is long overdue for CT.

Fathers are just as important as mothers. Why do the courts act like one parent is always better. It needs to be 50/50 from the start.

My kids deserve time with both of us. The current system is so outdated and just creates unnecessary conflict between parents. Fix this already.
