I grew up in Mt. Gilead & always heard the gun shots during duck season. I strongly object to designating MI as a bird sanctuary. It's 2 or 3 rich cranky people in Mt. Gilead who started all this. STOP THEM!

Waterfowl hunters support conservation and fund for the creation of habitat which make a better habitat for all species. Limiting hunting will not increase bird sightings but will decrease dollars into local businesses whose patrons will go somewhere else to spend their money.

Waterfowl hunting is a tradition in SC ans plays a key role in conservation. Our State constitution clearly states that the public waters of this state will remain forever free. Any regulation set by towns or municipalities are voided under the constitution. We can't simply just start deeming public areas as bird sanctuaries in an effort to keep hunter's at bay.

Do not cower to the whims of a minority. Hunters provide 70-80% of the budget for our department of natural resources so do not punish us.

Hunters and the dollars coming from hunters and their license help support efforts for migratory birds and other rare birds receive these benifts. Don't make the people who are conservationist pay for the tree huggers concerns that are unfounded and bias!

Hunters have very successfully coexisted with all non game birds all these years, so I see no reason except general anti hunting to close the Inlet from hunting. Share the resource, play nice on the sand bars.
