Oregon and Oregonians have worked diligently over the years on land use issues to avert sprawl. The "Red Barn" request is nothing more than a request for spot zoning. Spot zoning flies in the face of land use planning. It is illegal and immoral. No development south of the river. None. The property's zoning and use allowances were known when it was purchased by the Subaru interests. They were aware of the facts. If not, they did not perform due diligence. I suspect that they knew and feel that they can pay or muscle their wishes through the regulatory channels or by such means as Sen. Johnson's special "carve out".

Trying to make money by influencing legislators and laws is one of my pet peeves. If you want developable land, buy developable land. And if there isn't any, work to add more to the UGB.

Completely against any changes to the zoning for land south of the river. We have worked to protect this as farmland not commercial property.

I testified at the hearing in Clackamas County before the Red Barn was approved years ago to no avail. I am a retired farmer who farmed within one mile of the site and am opposed now as I was in 2004.

The Red Barn should not be taken from Rural Reserves. Lanphere should have known the designation when he made the investment.

We stand firmly against any dilution of current land use designations, especially since they have been agreed after "extreme vetting" by the citizens of the impacted area. I am buying a new small SUV this year, and I will not even stop at Wilsonville Subaru. They could have the lowest price and I still will not shop there. I can afford a few hundred extra dollars, if that what it takes to send a strong message to a land use pig (and you can quote me on that!)
