Shannon Quay West Hotel, Ruskey, Co. Leitrim should not be used to house Asylum seekers to the detriment of the village and it's local population.

Direct provision should end all over the country, it's degrading and ineffective

This is not about being anti refugee or anti anything for that matter. It's about being against the idiocy of a proposal that catapults 80 foreign souls into a community that doesn't share their culture, language or religion and all the incongruences that that entails for both communities.

I live locally, much too small of a town to hold that many people, should be opened back up as a hotel to bring more opportunities to the town, owner of hotel lied to the people of the town and said he wouldn’t turn it into a direct provision centre. 1/5 of the towns population will be changed overnight also and rooskey is too small for these people to even WANT to come here, no opportunities for them here.

No amenities in the area . You can’t up population by one sixth over night .

Worse possible idea.l grew up in this wonderful village.This is the last thing people want as a close community.Get real folk something like this needs to be in a big town

We used to stay here every time we visited Rooskey & that was often, we are so sad to hear it's not a hotel anymore. We loved staying there it was a beautiful hotel lovely staff & the local people so friendly.

Know who is coming before any strangers and immigrants from other countries are let into Ireland.

unbelievably stupid idea, dreamed up by people who wont have to suffer the consequences of these actions. local people will though. who is going to deal with the thief, assault, rape ? when we dont even have decent garda to care for the people. elderly will be the first easy targets. and i guarantee they will be predominately adult men who move in. what are they going to do for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without transport ? good luck finding anything positive to do when you dont want to mix with locals, dont want to pay for stuff. they are NOT refugee's. they are illegal immigrants with NO background checks (could easily be rapists, child molesters, murderers who are unwelcome in their own countries), and NO medical health checks coming from countries with real scary illnesses. heres a better idea, restore the hotel and boost the village again OR home OUR OWN IRISH !!! 10,000 irish are homeless, 3000 of them are kids. importing more problems, more homeless and more criminals is beyond moronic.

Rooskey need the tourism and the hotel open for business
