Shannon Quay West Hotel, Ruskey, Co. Leitrim should not be used to house Asylum seekers to the detriment of the village and it's local population.

No need in this town tourism industry is struggling here now no reason 4 people to go we have enough problem here with out sorting out another country's problems

Roosky is a town, dying on its knees. It needs employment and support. It’s a great town, that can be great again but it needs investments and employment.

I don't think these poor people should be placed somewhere that had nothing to offer them just so the rich can get richer.. locals were kept and still are been kept in the dark.. coward is a word that springs to mind....

It makes absolutely no sense, either for the asylum seekers or the people of Rooskey. This location is also a major stopping off point for tourists cruising on the Shannon. This ludicrous decision has got to be rescinded.

No local resources to accommodate such a high amount of people, be they foreign or Irish. More investment needed in the area shops, playgrounds before any idea of re homing 80+ people can be considered.

This is not about not wanting refugees in our village . The village is simply too small and does not have the resources to deal with the people that are already living here . , We need our hotel up and running again as a hotel to boost tourism etc and build up Rusky to the village it once was, we’ve already lost our Meat factory to another county and again all because of politics so time to cop on now and give us our village back

This is an unacceptable decision as Roos key village is unsuitable for a large number of 80+ refugees. There is no consideration for refugees or local residents in this venture.

I am American, but I care very much about this issue because my paternal grandfather, Patrick Dooner, emigrated to New York from Rooskey in 1912. Moreover, I have visited this lovely little village, and I have many cousins who live there. Please find a large city to resettle these refugees which can successfully absorb them; Rooskey is too small to accommodate them. Thank you.

This is not about not wanting refugees in our village. This is about trying to sustain our village before it’s lost forever.....we need that hotel to open as a hotel to bring trade and life back to our little piece of the earth. If it be becomes a reception centre or glorified jail as it will be nobody benefits. Don’t subject us to further decimation by taking away our only possibly viable way of creating work and life in our almost forgotten village

It's disgraceful. Rooskey does not have the amenities for this. I also do not think that a hotel is the answer.

I'm not disagreeing with refugees coming to Ireland I just believe rooskey is too small, there is much larger places such as Longford town and Dublin city
