He has been angling to get this thing built for the past 10 years. How many times do we have to say no?

No matter what side you are on the decision should be made by the people of Shakopee not the City Council.

Let the city's democratic process decide this and not just a small group of people who think they know best.

What is the fear in letting the voters say what they want?

Mayor Tabke is clearly showing that he does not care about what the voters want. This has been voted down by the residents of Shakopee 2 or 3 times in the past. By making it a bond issue it is taken completely out of the hands of the voters and left up to special interests and a knowingly weighted city council.

This item was decided at a school facilities taskforce meeting Oct 2014 when Tabke crashed the meeting with a power point stating the cc 2.0 concept without a referendum. Mocol and 2 school board members, Hallet and Mckean made it a council item. Tabke, mocol, and whiting pushed for it back then prior to any surveys or public input watch the Nov 2014 council meetings.

This needs to be voted on by the people who will be paying for it. This is the same way this piece of crap was shoved down our throats originally.

This decision is far too expensive to be left to this council alone.

For or against, tax changes should be approved by the voters.

Once again trying to slip something under the door. Isn't that how we got the community center in the first place? You know the one that no one is happy with!

Just sickened by the lack of respect.
The people that thought it was a good idea to take away the right to choose.
The very caring of citizens of Shakopee...the ones that will actually use the center.

Let the residents vote on the larger expenditures. My property taxes will already be taking a big hit. All of new industries moving here so not seem to be offsetting the cities reckless spending.
