A Plea to the Scottish Football League
It is time for change. Every fan that supports a team in the Scottish Football League knows that. By taking no action, you are directly responsible for the deterioration of our game. If you do not change things, quickly, the people in charge of the Scottish Football League will be guilty of killing the Scottish Football League. We believe there is a simple solution: change the leagues now to 16, 18 or 20 teams. The 10-10-10 configuration, which teams play each other at least four times per season, is patently ridiculous, and is directly responsible for the stultifying boredom that is chasing away spectators. Twice a season, plus the occasional extra cup tie, is clearly enough for any two clubs to play one another. We beg you, as custodians of an important element of professional football in Scotland, to change things this summer. Walter Smith has shown signs that he has begun leading our game out of the dark ages. We urge you to do your best and help him bring it into the modern world. Be Brave. Be Bold. Be Right!
