I feel PSEO students should be included in the weighted grades to be consistent for class rankings. They work just as hard for their grades.

I just graduate as a senior from Andover High school, and spent my entire senior year as a full time pseo student. I struggled in those classes, but knew I wanted to challenge myself to prepare for college and save money. It was unfortunate that due do to unweighted grades, my gpa dropped and I went from one of the top honor kids in my class to making the honor gpa cut by .09. It was more than frustrating and offensive to see I gave up my senior slide, to challenge myself and get ready for college , and to see people taking several easy classes and earning high honors with little to no effort.

Real college is a lot more challenging than high school AP classes.

PSEO classes tend to be even harder and require more of the high school student than the college in high school and AP classes. They should all be weighted grades.

SFHS should enforce the weighted grades. It allows students to be challenged academically. It is a high school so it should do what is best for the high school students, regardless of how many students are in PSEO. Those in PSEO shouldn't a be priority for the school when they are a minority of it.

As a student taking AP and CIS classes, I can attest to their rigor. I can also attest to what I hear from friends I have that are going PSEO, and it sounds to me that the coursework is equally as hard if not harder. However, I don't think that the weighting of grades should be postponed at the present moment if they can weight the PSEO grades. If the process is too complicated to complete in time for the weighted grades to go into effect here at the high school, I am all for postponing it; students following a path of almost full immersion into the college experience should not be placed lower than students learning the same material at the high school. If the high school is going to weight the grades of its students in college level classes, it cannot exclude those going PSEO.

MY DAUGHTER IS TAKING PSEO CLASSES AND I SEE HOW HARD SHE WORKS AND THE LEVEL OF CLASS IS FAR MORE ADVANCED ON CASMPUS THEN THE" IN SCHOOL COLLEGE" CLASSES TAUGHT BY HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS.

Kalissa, I truely believe you are not alone in your feelings of abandonment by SFHS. Your situation seems to be a common theme at the high school. Once you become a PSEO student the school feels no obligation to assist you anymore. But we feel they do have an obligation and this is why we are passing around this petition. Please pass this on to those you know who are in PSEO, thinking of doing PSEO or have left PSEO as you have. With your help we CAN CHANGE this situation.

As a former PSEO student of SFHS I feel as though PSEO students have no help when it comes to needing questions answered or help from SFHS counselors, if I had received these things when I was a current PSEO student I feel as though I could have been more successful and I believe I could have still been doing PSEO. The lack of help and information received from any person at SFHS when I had asked for it on multiple occasions as a PSEO student made it near impossible for me to succeed as a PSEO student. I and many of my friends who do PSEO feel like once you choose to further your college career as a PSEO student through SFHS you are not looked at and treated as if you are still a high school student at SFHS and we are completely disgusted and dissatisfied with our experience as PSEO students because of SFHS.
