SFC Charles Martland thank you for your service. I can only imagine how you feeling working around that type of scumbag. No soldier who has to read/remember the NCO Creed shouldn't be put in that type of situation/environment with a child rapist... The br (ass) at the Pentagon wish they has the nuts to throw this guy on his ass. Great Job for standing up!!!! #veteranaresoldiers

This NCO is a fast tracker to have reached the grade of E - 7 prior to 11 years in service. I am certain a look at his record will show many reasons not to let this incident put him out under QMP. Plus, if barred from re enlistment a wavier should be given to him. Come on, this is wrong and a waste of a career soldier with much training.

First let me say that I understand the need for our American fighting men to maintain their composure when in another country and culture. We do this in order to keep the peace or at least try to keep the peace between our people. That being said, my question is what about the country we are assisting / helping to get them on their feet. They themselves should not believe that they can treat an American service member like crap and ALWAYS get away with it.
Think about this for a moment, the only Afghan’s that were probably not angry with the soldiers was the mother of the child and probably other mothers, and that is a pitiful thought. My greatest fear is, we are training people like that Afghan commander to be a better leader and soldier. Can you imagine what they will do with that knowledge? I can, unleash HELL on the weak.
LEAVE THAT SOLDIER ALONE.
Let the Afghan’s know that – that behavior will not be tolerated when working with Americans and American Soldiers.

Sgt Martland should be given a medal for at least being a soldier of human morals. The brass in Washington could care less how many innocent civilians in these war torn countries are abused, in whatever way, as long as they get the 'numbers' games they play. IF we are going to continue to intervene in other countries wars, then that countries' 'immoral' practices should also be stopped. OR STOP fighting other countries wars!!

He did the right thing. I wish morw people would do the right thing,but after hearing this story I understand. why they don't when they already know they will be persecuted for doing so. Our government is such a contradiction.they should allow him to remain in the military.
