SFC Charles Martland is the very definition of a true hero, one who acted according to the reality he was confronted with instead of letting the impotence of protocol dictate his actions. He should be commended, awarded and celebrated for his deeds, not punished for coming to the defense of an innocent.

I am not a flaming Republican and am not an Obama basher, but this is an outrage, regardless of what political ideation one holds. Wow, no wonder they laugh at us. Our Soldiers do right and they get discharged? If we are going to "help" these countries ( I know it's in our best interest), we cannot support this horrendous cultural norm. I have read multiple articles on this and fail to see how he placed others in jeopardy. He should be a hero.

I want Sgt 1st class re instated into the Army. I want all incidents discussing the insedent exponged from his record. I think that if our soldiers are there to train and protect the people of Afganistan then I also think that the aftganistan people should respect our values. Our culture does not condon pedophili or assaults on mothers defending their children. I am not ok with soldier Maryland was kicked out for upholding our moral compass.
