This is an outrage! No wonder the US is becoming the laughing stock of world! When we abandon our moral principles we are lost. Martland should be given a medal! Not discharged!

As a former SF soldier in wartime, I realize that sometimes you have to do things that others would find uncomfortable and it usually acceptable until some shaky commander thinks it might get them in trouble, then the person who did what they had to do gets thrown under the bus. Keep him in the Army and recruit more like him and get rid of the shaky commanders.

All the facts must be diligently investigated and truly fair and reasonable judgement rendered. Based on what has been shared with the public, this seems a truly egregious injustice against this defender of our nation, SFC Martland.

This is a real man!! Showing real courage!!! A man that can stand up for what is right even if it means standing alone. The administration we have in place today disgust me to the core!! This man should be given a medal instead this is how you repay a good deed? I am utterly at loss for words I do not need to know the whole story to know that this man is a hero. Anyone that takes up for an innocent child whether American or Muslim needs to be honored!! Bring all child rapist to my front door and I will show you a thing or two!! As an American citizen and wife of a retired Lt Col I am disgusted with the way our military is treated by this administration. This man is a hero and did exactly what he should have done to protect that young boy. Oh, but a known traitor is treated like a hero and exchanged for 5 terrorist. Wake up!!!!!

Please join in with the Congressman assisting active duty Green Beret SFC Martland who is being threatened with discharge from the military, under the excuse of budget cuts, in retaliation for him shoving an Afgan officer, that he had been training, who raped a 12 year old boy and when the boys mother objected the Afgan officer beat her up. When he was later laughing about this and saying it was no big deal Martland shoved the dirt bag and said that "we will not have that type of behavior under my watch". I think he should be appreciated and certainly not penalized. He has an outstanding record as a Professional Soldier otherwise. Please help him to stay in the service of our country. Thank you.

As a Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army, I'm happy to sign this petition in hopes that an ethical outcome is reached for someone who upheld his values and beliefs. Too many people in this world turn a blind eye to this evil in our world and just say "it's not my problem".
