This is unfair! What if that woman was your wife and that was your child? Where is the humanity in firing a man that was protecting a woman and child?

This is absolutely ridiculous. Obama and his uninformed followers should be the ones being punished, not someone who actually has morals and puts his life on the line for what has become such an ungrateful country.

This is an outrage against our Country's finest. What did you expect him to do? I guess ignore the atrocity!!!

What's wrong with the Leaders of our Nation? You do need God in your life. He will guide you through the decisions that need to be made. The punishment given to SFC Charles Martland DOES NOT fit his crime. Please reconsider your decision.

Discharging this decorated soldier for such a stupid reason is beyond disgraceful. He represents the kind of man our military needs. He fights to protect this country, fights to protect another country & it's citizens. What more can we ask? He had trained this animal who misused his power to do a deplorable acts. He then took the responsibility of continuing this man's training by letting him know he needs to take responsibility for his actions in no uncertain turns. This man needs to get a metal not be discharged. He could have shot him!!!!

This soldier did what any American soldier would have done if they were in his shoes.

SFC Martland represents the very best of America and his actions were honorable in that he was trying to protect those who could not protect themselves. Why should he be penalized and a criminal allowed to carry on? What is happening to our country?

Being a victim myself along with other family members being victims, I am proud of this man to stand up for that boy! He never should have been removed from the army. I would have loved for someone to stand up for me and/or my family members. A great big THANK YOU to this man!!!

If the Army does this, it needs to send the new female rangers to deal with the rapist. I am certain that they will be decorated for doing the same thing.

I am appalled that removing a soldier of Charles caliber is actually being entertained. This is yet another example of why to never trust the leadership within the military or that of our nation.
