Bowe Bergdahl walks free, but a soldier who defends women and children from a rapist is being punished? End this abhorrent display of injustice now and do the right thing for this hero!

This man was doing what I would want my son to do in this situation. To even be questioning this mans integrity is saying something about our leaders. Shame on them!

Thank you for your service sir. I hope you are able to continue your career. I am sure you are one of America's best. I think it is such a horrible thing that Obama is relieving experienced and intelligent men from our military. He has lost respect of many Americans because of the way he is supporting our security. God bless you sir. I pray things turn out for you.

This is not the Army I served in. I'm appalled that things like this have even become issues. You reward a man for heroism... Not condemn him! Leadership should be ashamed of themselves.

Why is it now that doing the right thing gets you punished? He should be commended for his actions!

Protecting a child is honorable in every situation! All involved need to use COMMON SENSE ... Obviously something that has been lost in the military and America

This is an absolute disgrace! How did we reach the point where our finest soldiers are treated this way for being exactly what we need them to be - protectors. God bless SFC Martland!!

This is a slap in the face to SFC Martland as well as all of the other fine men like him. I salute his actions and condemn the injustice being perpetrated against him.

Americans will not stand by and watch while decorated soldiers are dismissed for doing what is right and just. Soldiers are not politicians... They act, they don't reflect on how their actions will translate to votes. Why in the world would a soldier be punished for doing his job? Is it because the offender in this case was a commander in another country and it's not politically expedient to express outrage at rape when the offender is of high rank? The higher ups in the military should give SFC Charles Martland a medal for this, not dismiss him to appease another. When those in leadership capitulate to political correctness and appeasement, the message is clear, and the American public will not stand for this corruptness. Morals matter...
