Show some common sense and reinstate SFC Charles Martland. Don't show that the military condones child rape and spousal abuse. The military has been watered down enough as it is.

This soldier should receive a commendation award for this incident, NOT a forced, less than honorable discharge! It's a sad statement on our current state of affairs when even the military fails to uphold what is sensible and decent.

It will be a tragedy to let this hero and great American leave the service of our country. It wasn't that long ago that SOF were receiving huge bonuses for staying on active duty. Can our country afford this kind of idiocy?

He should have done more than slap the raptist! He was going his job to protect. If it had been a white cop he slapped he would have received a mteal.

As a retired officer who has been deployed to Afghanistan performing the same advisory position as these two heroes, I too had confrontations with the Afghan Uniform Police over this gross practice of sexual abuse of children.... The difference is that my command supported me like we should be supporting SFC Martland. Do not make him pay for doing the very thing we are trained to do - protect those that cannot protect themselves
