The child rapist should have been shot long before the Sargeant was in his presence. Islam is a disgusting religion that allows child rape and marriage to 8 year olds.

Vietnam highlighted the need to always be an American Warrior, that means we fight as Americans which includes we do not forget that we protect the highest level of human rights and should never fear reporting acts that are not acceptable by Americans! Shame that our leaders and U.S. Army leaders have forgotten this. Praise not penalize! In this drawdown (which is yet another failure of our Government to balance a budget while retaining the most prepared and manned Military in the World) now is the time to select the top performers and those that embrace what it is to be a U.S. Soldier and this soldier does just that. Don't let the government drive your decisions U.S. Army leadership - lead by example and when required, tell the U.S. Government it is your job to have a ready Army, so don't tell me how to do my job when you obviously can't do yours!

What they are wanting to do to SFC Martland is disgusting. He should be awarded for what he did. PC is killing this country and demoralizing our military.

Trained to protect and defend, then punished when he does just that! Shame on you who've compromised this man's honor, heart and integrity by attacking him. This is a good MAN who embodies what it means to be a MAN and your going to jeopardize his life work for someone's hurt feelings. Asinine!

SFC Martland reacted as I would expect any human being with a modocum of decency and morals would. To chapter him out of the Army would be a great miscarriage of justice.

How can the Army reward the perpetrator (the Afghan commander) for being a pedophile and assaulting a mother and punishing those who came to the mother and son's defense. Who was SFC Martland suppose to file charges with, the commander against the commander? Let's not be stupid here

The Government choice of targeting a distinguished Green Beret for discharge alone is abominable. To do so as a punitive measure for demonstrative purposes for discouraging other soldiers from opposing pedophiles and rapists and women beaters is heinous and immoral and will be a devastating blow on military moral. Unless such a treasonous purpose is in fact the underlying motivation, every effort should be made to reverse this deplorable decision regarding SFC Charles Martland and show the Military that honor, integrity and courage to defend the defenseless and set the captives free is still a part of our code of honor.

It's a sad day when our brave soldiers protect the innocent that they are the one treated like criminals. It's no wonder people are thinking twice about joining the military.
My oldest child was considering joining the army and I stopped him.
I no longer trust that our government will protect our own. This world has turned upside down.
