SFC Martland should be allowed to continue his military career and be decorated for his bravery in support of the child victim against his superiors' unreasonable orders.

Thank God there are decent men in the Army, my dad did the same thing in Vietnam. He was deemed to have done his job. Things have certainly changed

A police commander RAPED AND BEAT a child, a CHILD, and beat the mother for talking too. And yet and bronze star recipient who by they way probably hears about this all the time and was fed up with the slap on wrist punishments, did what any father would've done. And our gov wants to discharge him for political reasons??? What is WRONG with this???!!!

This man is a hero and should be celebrated as such. Children often have no voice in the face of sexual abuse. He did what any parent or honorable adult should be expected to do.

With all of the outspoken politicians regarding sexual abuse this soldier should be awarded a medal not this type of treatment. Our country needs more individuals such as him as role models. Shame on the U.S Army and their lack of intestinal fortitude for what is right and just

Beware America, this drip drip degrading of our Military will have consequences. To have a properly trained fully operational Special Forces Operator takes years of commitment and tremendous family and personal sacrifices. The morale and retention of all the Special Operations community is being put at risk. (Retired Special Forces Team Sergeant 5th and 10th Group, Somalia and Irag veteran) De Oppreso Liber

I support this green beret for doing what we spend our tax dollars to do, protect the helpless, carry out his missions. How can we expect him to fight for a child of one race and not the child of another?

Very proud of this soldier, if he is discharged by the Army is like the U.S. is complice of this Afghani Commander which I again will call him a PIG ! (With no offence to the animal)

As the wife of a soldier and mother of a small boy, all I can say is: job well done, Soldier. You make us proud. I hope and pray that my son grows up to have outstanding moral fiber like you and his father. You are honorable and courageous beyond words, and we are behind you all the way!!
