I was an Army wife, Ranger Dining Hall Mgr, and am now a confused American citizen. There is nothing more noble than saving an innocent... What are you thinking ...??? Shame on you.... Let this fine soldier continue his service...now!

He did the right thing. If the Army punishes him they are condoning rape of a minor. In USA most states that is a class 2 felony.

He did the right thing! I CANNOT BELIEVE our president and his cronies rather turn their heads and let children be raped but God forbid a soldier puts a stop to it and rightly so is being punished. How screwed up is society and this president?

I cannot believe that the military would not stand behind this man and applaud his actions.

After retiring from the military, my husband now deals with molestation and rape cases in is second career.
This man protected a child. Why is he being prosecuted? The whole judicial system seems to be collapsing

Give this hero his job back. He did nothing wrong. In fact I applaud his self restraint for not beating that child raping woman beating monster. He is and forever will be the lowest form of human there can be. Martland is a hero, and should not be punished for coming to the aide of an abused family.

Disgraceful what our military has done to this soldier. Shame on you. He gets this for protecting those who can't protect themselves from some Afghan police pervert? May God forgive those in command who botched yet another situation.

This man is a hero. He should receive a commendation for what he did. What a travesty of justice the military is doing to this honorable man.

To discharge a decorated soldier, an officer no less, for standing up for the very people he was there to protect, is a disgrace. Putting the hurt feelings of a pedophile and rapist above a child and of a decorated soldier is a gross miscarriage of justice.
