Being a retired E8 Special Forces soldier, without reservation, I wholeheartedly support SFC Martland in his battle to do what is right.

This country that we fought for is in serious trouble. Do we remember Pearl Harbor and 911?

Our heroes ought to be praised and glorified. Not punished. Wouldn't you rather have him protecting your children and wives instead of some corrupt and immoral official?

If the facts published are true, I'm did very disappointed in the Army's response to someone doing what's right.

SFC Martland should be commended for his actions, not penalized. Just what in hell happened to MY Army that resulted in this? Thomas R. Taylor Capt OrdC 1965-1969

I just finished 7 years of service. 82nd 1-325. 11b1p. I've seen it all my fellow combat vet chaptered for wieght . he was built like a football player and is. He was in best shape of anyone in company. And ran 12min 2 miles. That's top guy or close to it in avg companys run times. When I ets(got out on normal regular my contract is up) we did many briefings and they would ask who is ets? Who is chapter? About 3% were ets. If yer foot hurts u can get out right now. But this guy wants to stay. He deserves too. This doesn't pertain to him . but the things you did for your country are not erased by a mistake u make later on. Example a soilder dies 2 tours In3 years than gets a DUI. And all his honrable service benefits are swiped from him. There's a lot fucked up. U wouldn't know unless u lived the life . navy air force could be different. All I know is 82 all the way airborne.

He deserves a medal not a discharge.

The fact that this petition is necessary is proof positive that "we live in a country founded by geniuses, and run by idiots"!

SFC martland is a warrior he is what this country did should and continue to acknowledge credit and support. maybe the people in Washington need to get behind their desk and find out what the real war zones look like there. this country and our so-called leaders criticize and condemn a soldier for standing up for a child and for women. that is disgusting. if we do not start treating our men and women in uniform better than we treat the damn enemy then who are we going to have left to stand in the gap to protect and defend this great nation.
