SFC Martland stood up to a Afghan police commander for raping a boy and beating the boy’s mother. Martland was disciplined for this, relieved of his duties, and now has been discharged.
SFC Martland served with distinction in Iraq in 2008 and Afghanistan in 2010 and was awarded the Bronze Star for actions during the 2010 Taliban ambush. He was runner up for 2014 Special Warfare Training Group Instructor of the Year. This man is one of the best of the best. He should have been given an award for standing up. Instead he was given a bad review by his superiors because of this Afghan Commenders accusations. Our military protected this child molester and Congress should investigate WHY!
Our two sons are Marines and have served numerous tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Both saw heavy action and many of thier comrades were lost. This man represents them and who we are, and why they fought. They fought to protect the right of every man, women, and child to have their God given right, FREEDOM. SFC Martlands actions did just that. He should have been given a medal for not killing the bastard. Please petition Congressman Duncan Hunter to have this matter investigated.

This is a complete lack of competency at the highest level of leadership within the government and military. This is the type of filth that I as a veteran enlisted to eradicate and remove. We are supposed to be building a country worth living in, this behavior does not align with what we stand for as a country or service.

I've known and worked with Charles over several deployments. He is a great soldier we need about 500,000 like him who aren't afraid to do the right things no matter what.

That Commanding Office should have been thrown in jail not the Sgt being relieved of his enlistment.

My husband was in Vietnam, my father and 10 of my uncles were in WWII, another was in Korea, and I had g-g-grandfathers in the Civil War and the Revolutionary War. I have always been proud of my family warriors. I am ashamed of the current administration that would think it was alright for something like this to happen. Please bring back integrity!

Once again, we see the consequences of Obama's purging of honorable, conscientious senior officers from our military and the advancement of his agenda to gut the American military with manpower cuts and morale-destroying social experiments.
In Obama's eyes, the rapist is more valued than this upstanding and courageous man. Despite numerous witness declarations supporting this fine Green Beret and denouncing the rapist's specious claims, the the Army chooses to ruin a man's reputation and career. This is wrong and should not be allowed to happen. I hope other members of Congress will also speak out and stop this injustice.
