We are looking for everyone signatures in regard to making the Sexual Offenders Registry of Canada Public! Currently this is not something available to us. This list, which includes names, photos, dob, current location, and type of offences they have committed; is only available to our police and rcmp. Being a mother myself, I believe we have a right to know who is living in our area. And yes I am aware that this is announced on the news when someone new is released into an area, but what if you are new to the neighbourhood? You have no idea who your neighbours are. And would you really want your child socializing with the people next door, when they infact could be a known sex offender, but it unknown to you. In the United States, they have all of this available at the click of a mouse. Why is it that here in Canada we do not? We are a petition to change this. To allow the government to have something from the people to say, we don't agree with how this is handled. So we the canadian people know who we are living next door, or in the same neighbourhood as. So please sign this petition.
