We've needed this for years! People drive highway speeds on Sequoia Spur.

We also need increased enforcement of speed limits in the area.

If traffic enforcement will not be provided, then this is the next best thing.

I have lived in Serenada since 1990, growing up in one section and now owning a home in a different section. My husband's parents moved to Serenada in 1975, and he has also lived the majority of life within this neighborhood. Sequoia Spur has always been a road that people speed on. In my opinion this is due to the nature of its long straight away coupled with it being a major entrance/exist to Williams Drive. Since the creation of the road, there has never been a ‘four way’ intersection, all intersections coming from the southern side. Now that Madrid has opened to the newer neighborhood, years of habitual speeding habits have ‘intersected’ with new bad habits of drivers rolling or running the stop sign on this newly created through-street. THIS MUST BE A FOUR WAY STOP. Obviously if people were all obeying the law this would not be an issue, however neighbors have seen the human behaviors, many close calls and now a major accident. Next time it could be a fatality involving a person on their bike or a car full of kids. Both neighborhoods are full of young families. The 4-way stop would bring awareness to the major through-street and also slow the speeders down that are traveling along Sequoia Spur towards/away from Williams Dr.
Probably won’t meet warrants, but worth a shot.
