I also lost my 18 year old daughter to sepsis. Time to take action and ensure that no other lives are lost to this silent killer. Public awareness is vital.

Far too many people are being maimed and killed by sepsis, yet ignorance of the symptoms remains high amongst the general population and healthcare workers alike. Sepsis kills more people than the combined total of deaths from breast, bowel and prostate cancers, road traffic accidents and HIV infection.

More awareness is needed to ensure that people know the signs and symptoms of sepsis to save lives. Far to many families have suffered the devasting loss all because they’ve never heard of it or they don’t know what to look for in order to seek urgent medical advice and treatment.
