Though I do believe in a dress code, for girls AND for boys, I don't think spaghetti straps should be included in the "inappropriate dress ' category. How about teaching our boys to think with their brains instead of other parts of their bodies, and respect women instead of harassing girls for what happens in a boy's mind? My daughter went to this high school and never had an issue, she dresses modestly. My son is now at this school and we have taught him RESPECT! Pick your battles, administrators, I know the way some young ladies dress crosses the line, but have some common sense!

We go to a school where we are told to stand out. Some of us do that in the way we dress. How are we supposed to stand out when we are being stripped from our identity through our clothes.

although im signing the petition, let me just say that getting to ur goal and getting all the signatures doesn't necessarily mean the office will pay attention to you. this isnt a fight with just the vapa administration, these dress regulations extend to all schools under lausd. it will take alot more than a petition to get their attention and i hope your willing to do that.

A couple weeks ago I was dress-coded for a V back shirt. They had me call my mom and miss a whole class period. When they made me change, I ran into my friend and had her wear it for the rest of the day. She did not get dress-coded. Even when the same staff member saw her wearing the shirt. She smiled and kept walking. This proves the staff does not treat the students equally when it comes to dress-code

If boys get distracted when staring at our shoulders that is clearly their problem, until LA stops being so freaking hot we should be able continue to wear what we please to keep ourselves comfortable

I feel the same way at my school a lot of the girls are intelligent. The way they dress doesn't define their intellectual abilities
