Please sign this petition to keep the current Hybrid II schedule at SEP. This encourages safety among students, staff, and families.

The Hybrid 2 plan split the student class into two groups: A and B. The A group goes to school Monday, Thursday, and every other Wednesday. The B group fills in the gaps. On the days they are in school, students go through a blocked schedule where classes run as long as 90 minutes. On the days they are online, students can learn lessons through ZOOM. When the lessons are done, students are able to learn and finish assignments at their own pace.

This schedule gives students the safety they need from exposure to the Coronavirus. With constant sanitation and social distancing procedures, students are given a safe environment. Not only are students at risk, but also their families. There are students with family members who are at a greater risk to the virus than others. If students return to a full schedule, they and their families are at risk of contracting the virus. Students can go to a 100% online learning plan for their safety, but they will not get the advantages they can receive from in-person schooling. With a Hybrid schedule, students can get the best of both worlds.

There are also benefits that come with the Hybrid 2 plan. The schedule gives students freedom at home to learn lessons and finish assignments at their own pace. This teaches students independence and responsibility to get their schooling done. Some things they will need down the road for college or any post-school plans. It also teaches students to accommodate the online lifestyle that might still be used by colleges and universities after graduation. This is an important skill especially with the technological advances that are being made today.

The Hybrid 2 schedule gives students the safety they and their families need as well as prepares them for the future they may face.

Please sign this petition with the students, staff, and families' health and future in mind.
