opposing the imposition of compulsory redundancies,
and noting that the University of St Andrews has informed its four
Senior Language Tutors in the School of Modern Languages that they are
considered at risk of such redundancy, we the undersigned call upon the University
(a) immediately to cancel this threat; and
(b) to engage with all staff, in the School of Modern Languages and
throughout the University, to develop long-term strategies to ensure the
stability of the School.

Really upset to hear this. The uni always goes on about its reputation but then treats the people who actually teach us like numbers on a spreadsheet. Shameful.
Ridiculous. My language modules have been the best part of my degree thanks to these staff members. Stop trying to save money on the wrong things.
KEEP THEM. they are essential to the school.
These tutors are the backbone of the language department. St Andrews is losing its mind if they think cutting them is a good idea.
Total incompetence. How can you have a top ranked school without the experts who run the language programs?
