SENIOR SKITS 2016

Although I'm not one to usually post this kind of stuff, I feel the need to do so. One of Talismann Day's longstanding traditions has included senior skits put on by the yearbook staff. These skits were written many years ago and have been reused and adapted to fit each graduating class. Although some may poke fun at others, it is all in good taste and good fun. If a specific person is mentioned in skits, they are asked for their permission and shown the script for "their given skit" prior to Talismann Day. There have been cases in the past where we have had to adapt in order to meet the requests to not include that information. The fact that these skits are being put on trial is a shock to me. As a previous editor-in-chief, participant in skits, & "victim" of skits, I see no problem in what they portray or represent. Not only are these skits not mandatory, but they are pre-approved by students and quite frankly, I don't see the harm in that. Senior skits are something that you spend your entire high school career looking forward to, & it would dismay me to think that my younger brother, among others, may not be able to experience this because of Charlie's new rules.

I'm so proud of my senior! She has worked so hard to do well in school and has been so excited for all that the graduation festivities bring. Please allow the senior skits to be a part of the Class of 2016 festivities. Thank You.

Don't take this away from our fellow students. Our seniors in chess team dream of this. We train hard, we win for our seniors. Let the skits happen. #chess

the annual senior skits is something every student looks forward to from their freshman year... it's a tradition and I don't think it should be stopped.

Just one more important Mann tradition stripped away. Sickening that it's being done to seniors. A new low.

If senior skits have been around this long then why should they be banned!? Let the students have some freedom to do what they love rather than ban everything that they find fun "for the benefit of the school"
