THANK YOU so much for doing this!!! I have been dreading what is going to happen this fall!! I really believe the mental health aspect of shutting schools down again would far outweigh the risks from COVID-19 on our kids. As someone who has dealt with some anxiety/depression myself and my son, I have already seen it starting in kids and adults alike. This is a dangerous path that can come with a lifetime of struggle. COVID will someday be something we just remember but mental health battles can last forever. I also understand fear and know you can’t tell people how they should feel.
My thought is with both teachers and students...if you don’t feel comfortable, do remote learning. Those who want to go back, can...without crazy restrictions! Surely in this day and age of technology, this is feasible. FaceTime, cameras, zoom, whatever! Set it up in a classroom and stream for those who can’t be there. Or teach from home if teachers feel unsafe! If schools are nervous about liability, have those returning sign waivers! I understand the risk! Please PLEASE let people make the choice!!

The kids need to be in school. This past spring was a joke for online learning. Teachers were not as available as what they should have been (and are being paid for). Wear the masks, social distance, who cares, just bring the students back to class!

I am for normal schooling, activities and events. I’m for temperature checks and extra washing of hands and sanitizing stations. And if you feel more comfortable wearing a mask so be it. But I don’t feel it is necessary to wear a mask. I feel you do need to build some immunity to this like everything else as well. Hand washing is a key thing! The children need to be back to normal school, sports and to have outside play time. This is a necessity!! Not all children are able to learn on a computer. Absolutely agree if you aren’t feeling well stay home. Time to get back to normal.

-Detrimental to longterm social development
-social distancing is NOT natural, human beings are social creatures and children require immense social interactions
-if this spring was an indicator of the absolute garbage of online learning & learning lessons that seemed were just thrown together, then the upcoming year will be total loss!
-i.e. a lost year of education
-lack of effective learning let alone effective assessment & validation of material and requirements
-the school district went above and beyond for the “gifted” programs but left everyone else out in the wind and didn’t give a darn but argued they had to be fair due to some not having internet connectivity, what hypocrisy

Back to school, no masks, no social distancing, recess and lunch as usual. The virus mortality rate proves normal life should be happening now and it shows there was never a need for shutdown. A pandemic never took place.

Tv teaching is a farse! As taxpayers we pay teachers to teach in person not fro a screen . Children need social skills and manners to be practice in school . My daughter came in under 911 and out under Covid and she was very disappointed that she did not get to graduate along with school classmates no to tv teaching!

Our kids need ADEQUATE education, which involves face to face environments so they are able to 1. Build social skills and 2. Be in an environment where they are focused on learning, not distractions at home 3. Knowledge is powerful and these kids deserve an education. Look at the effects the isolation has had on kids mental health. It’s not just adults suffering. The kids need each other and their RIGHT TO QUALITY EDUCATION
