Please make changes to these very archaic laws and reevaluate the cases in which 1st time offenders were so young when they made mistakes and have not been given a chance to prove that they have grown up. Specifically if someone has found a way to change, and better themselves while behind those bars even though they were given a life sentence.

I have a loved one who is a very good person and he got thrown away. Self-defense. He's been in Angola State Penitentiary for 12 years and has a life sentence. We want to get married and have children as we've been life-long friends. I fully support this Bill and we are praying that it passes.

I support this bill because there are so many small town began using this tool for power and personal reason. I think non violent offenders should be rehab not jailed for life. It puts strings on inmates and families because of political parties decisions. It cost the state of Louisiana tons of money that we all ready dont have that is my personal story and opinion.

Yes this needs to be addressed ! We are warehousing reformed adults who should be given a chance to contribute to society vs drain our resources .
