This bill is common sense. It also holds out to redemption and restoration for people who have made mistakes, paid their debt to society, and deserve a second chance.

These first offenders should be released Some of which were not really the ones that commuted the crime but were there at the time of the crime and were blamed and then convicted of the crime. I believe that the time spent and the record be incarnated should be considered as well.

It's time Louisiana follow what other states are already doing. I fully support this bill. First offenders should be given the chance at parole.

I hope all of the LA senators watched closely "Black in America" on CNN last night. The time was spent at San Quentin, interviewing inmates who have changed from what they were at the moment of their crime until now. When asked why they would improve when they have little to no chance of getting out, the answer was, "I do it for myself." The last comment from the host sticks in my mind: "If you think people do not change, rewind this and watch it again." Yes!!

The LA prison system is bankrupting the state. Releasing inmates who are no longer a threat is an excellent idea. Let them start paying into the tax base instead of sucking it dry.
