I support a bill of this type as a minimum to enable trained professionals to evaluate each case for extenuating circumstances. A mandatory life sentence without chance of parole is not the best option for most cases. I know of a particular case where witnesses lied and it resulted in a life sentence for a man who in reality was in a fight for his life and likely that of his daughter and grand daughter. A man died but it was a case of self defense. Several of the witnesses ultimately recanted their original statements but this man has now spent more than 20 years incarcerated, is now over 60, and has not been able to get a new trail.
Even though not associated with the case I spoke of above, I believe that cases involving the murder of a child, sexual assault of a child, or murder during or associated with the commission of rape should be prosecuted to the extent of the law.

Yes Ppl should have another chance I hope they get another chance on the outside after so many years I say after 15 years n jail they should b given a chance that's what some need a chance I hope they all do get that chance
