It's time we start holding individuals in our servant government accountable for the crimes that they committed in our name and while on our watch. For us to not call for accountability, to include the people's constitutional remedy of impeachment, makes us comlicit in those crimes committed in our name and while on our watch.

Please. I did not serve in the US Marines so that this kind of behavior could be found acceptable by our government. Please allow us to put these suspects on trial.

Torture is never acceptable. It will require courage to stand up to that moral outrage. Be assured that no one approves and that we desperately need the cleansing that will put this to rest. We need also address the moral failure of the legal and medical professionals who 'sanitized' torture and the media which glorified it.

Torture is unacceptable in any circumstance. Allowing it and then not admitting our guilt demeans and degrades our democracy.

This statement by Officer Davis is the best I've seen on reasons why we as a people and a nation cannot, MUST NOT, ever use or endorse torture. There will always be those who, for whatever twist exists in their minds, believe that might makes right, that power answers to no one. However, the human race must move beyond its reptilian brain responses if we are ever to achieve full humanity and the human family is ever to become civilized and worthy of existence.
