The Peterborough Petes are one of the OHLs most storied and respected organizations. However, over the last 20 years the Petes have been unable to compete with the Windsors, Londons and Kitcheners of the OHL due to lack of funds and resources. The team is losing fans year after year due to not being competitive and many fans believe the organization is in desperate need of change.

An article in the Peterborough Examiner has made fans of the Peterborough Petes aware of news that an independent group of investors have offered to purchase the team. The full article can be read here: http://www.thepeterboroughexaminer.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3526928

Unfortunately, the Peterborough Petes board of directors has turned them down. The reason why is puzzling, especially with Pete's President saying himself that the team is in debt and losing money each season. See: http://www.thepeterboroughexaminer.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3521963

Fans of this team deserve to see a competitive organization year after year. Over the last 5 years the Petes have only won a single playoff game and have missed the playoffs 3 times. They have only made two second-round playoff appearances in the last 15 years.
Selling the Petes to a private group who is committed to keeping the team in Peterborough and investing in the team with a vision for the future is the best thing that could possibly happen to this organization.

Please sign this petition and share it with your friends/family via email and on Facebook/social media in hopes to convince the Petes board of directors that the fans want change. The current model is not working and we deserve better. If the board wants what is best for this team and this city we can only hope that they will do the right thing and sell. This is a no brainer decision and possibly the only thing that can help save this franchise.
