Sell The Mets

Dear Mr. Wilpon,
It is with great displeasure
we submit to you this letter. There is no reason to reiterate the overwhelming
disappointment the fans feel with how our team is operated.
Owning a baseball team in New York City is a rare privilege. And, with that privilege comes a responsibility to invest the necessary resources into a fielding a winning product on the field.
Your actions and the team’s financial decline in recent years show that the Mets ownership is clearly no longer capable of investing in, or delivering, a proper New York product. It’s bad for the team, bad for the city, and simply bad business.
Mr. Wilpon, if you love the Mets as much as you say you do; if you care about the fans at all, then please be honest with yourself and to our beloved New York Mets. It’s time. Sell the team to someone who will provide the necessary resources to bring a winning product back to Queens.
Please find below the signatures of all fans that agree with the sentiments of this letter. Collectively, we assert that the New York Mets, and its loyal fan base, deserve better than what you are willing or able to provide.
Sincerely,
Tony Carbone
