this new regulation will halt many new homes being built, by introducing this regulation, you will not be creating any new construction jobs as most building firms involved in one off builds would still benefit from self builders. you are in danger of removing some builders from the property market as, self builds save many many thousands, thus improving the chances of getting a mortgage. I should know, I was one of those people back in 1999. NANNY STATE!! going one too far.

This is a typical example of the government providing more finance for the professional classes once more at the expense of the wiorking classes. If you have not attended one of the elite colleges they dont want tro know you.

We should not be pleading with the government to " please consider the people of Ireland" and again under the new regulatuons" but (as a basic right) demand proper thought out decision making which will cobsider the needs of the population.

The right to build one's own home should not be removed. Rather a supporting legislative and educational infrastructure for those that wish to responsibly do their own / their family home that is properly cognisant of the rights of future purchasers needs to be developed.
